In music, “sonata” refers to a specific form that contains two main melodic themes. The Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size sedan that has been built since the late 1980’s. With the right Hyundai parts, it’s possible to keep your vehicle running forever, but these need to be selected with care and meet or exceed OEM (original equipment manufacture) standards.
By the time the vehicle is ten years old and has travelled 100,000 miles, many Hyundai Sonata parts have worn out. A partial list of these Hyundai Sonata parts under the hood includes the radiator, alternator, water pump, and starter motor. Some of these can be purchased as “rebuilt” or “remanufactured” parts, meaning you can buy them at a substantial discount. Brake pads should be replaced when you start hearing a whining sound as the pedal is applied; doing this in a timely fashion may spare you the need of buying a new rotor. Hyundai Sonata parts that are part of the suspension will also start to show their age by 100,000 – although this can vary, depending on your driving habits. Struts and control arms should be switched out, and the steering rack should be inspected; if the rubber boots that protect the CV joints are cracked, it’s probable that these joints have already suffered some damage. Shocks of course should be changed as needed; if your car continues to bounce three or four times after hitting a bump or dip in the road, these components have reached the end of their useful life.
