The ignition coil on your Volvo generates the high voltage needed to produce the spark that ignites the air/fuel mixture in the engine cylinders to make the engine run. If the coil winding with the ignition coil short open or closed, the coil will not be able to build voltage and your Volvo will not run. The Bosch 00027 transistorized Ignition coil is a superior quality replacement ignition coil for your 1976-1981 Volvo 262, 264, or 265.
