Topping your expansion tank off with a concentrate of Mercedes coolant is one of the easiest preventative maintenance chores you can do for your Mercedes. It's typically wise to wait until your engine has cooled or better yet your Mercedes hasn't been driven in a few hours prior to unscrewing the coolant reservoir cap. The temperature and pressure buildup, especially if the tank is near dry, can be dangerous when extracting the cap.
