For decades Mercedes Benz owners have salivated over the brand's coupes, convertibles and sedans. In 1997, Mercedes finally introduced a product to meet the rising demand of SUVs in the Americas. The ML350 was the first midsize luxury SUV to carry the Mercedes emblem. The original plan was to badge these cars with the "M Class" but this was objected to by BMW due to their M3 & 5 series being sold under that nomenclature at the time. The first generation W163 was the first SUV to offer electronic stability control. As a side note, the wiring harnesses on these are available to purchase at AutohuasAZ and are prone to failure. This important safety feature allowed Mercedes to market the ML350 to families of 5 to 7 that could sit comfortably and feel safe if the car detected loss of steering control. The Borg Warner designed transfer case on the W163 allowed for a more aggressive set of differentials designed to perform in snowy and offroad conditions. The later ML430 would offer a 4.3L V8 with the AMG version, the ML55 offering a 5.4L. Mercedes successfully aligned with the producers of the 1997 Jurassic Park film to feature the W163 in the film. This was widely lauded by shareholders at Mercedes.
The W164 hit the US market in 2005 and was promptly awarded the "Best New SUV" in 2006. With a reduced coefficient of drag, better aerodynamics, and the added gear of the 7G-tronic transmission, the W164 was and is still a thrill to drive. The permanent four-wheel drive makes this car a popular addition to garages in Park City and Lake Tahoe where skiers elect to add the aftermarket roof rack to assist in their weekend adventures. The ML63 AMG came out later that year and was given a beefier 6.2L M156 V8 producing over 500HP. Many ML350 adjustable shocks and air shocks are provided by Arnott Industries, a preferred brand of AutohausAZ.
In April 2015, Mercedes discontinued the ML nameplate in favor of the GLE.

Owning a Mercedes ML350 is also a major commitment. You can't drive one of the best cars on the road in good conscience without putting in the kind of time and energy necessary to keep it in top condition – so this means that regular maintenance and repairs are critical in the life of a Mercedes Benz. Luckily, AutohausAZ stocks a vast selection of ML350 parts that are ready to ship.2012-2015 ML350 BlueEfficiency 4MATIC W166
The engine above, the M276, was featured in Mercedes' answer to the gas guzzling criticisms of their SUV in the ML350 BlueEfficiency. This car actually came with coil springs in both rear and front suspension but blew the critics away with a stunning 33MPG. We offer a wide range of Mercedes ML350 brakes as well as transmission filter kits for the complicated 7-speed automatic gearbox.
Mercedes M276 Engine
The M276 engine pictured above, was in new circulation from 2010-2017. Do not confuse the M276 engine with its M272 predecessor as none of the parts are interchangeable. Some noticeable improvements on this engine have to do with a cleaner combustion process. The direct injection will spray petrol up to 4 sparks per intake stroke. This precise combustion process allows for a cleaner burn and smoother engine stop-starts. This enhanced VVT mechanism allowed for 24% improved fuel efficiency, and we were introduced to Mercedes' "Blue Efficiency" moniker. Many of the common Mercedes replacement parts needed for this engine have to do with the direct ignition system and fuel pump. The high-pressure fuel pump undergoes rigorous conditions and will likely need replacement over time. You may also find the Bosch ignition coils and spark plugs needed for this engine in our online catalog.
Mercedes W164 and W166 Air Compressors and Air Springs
The Mercedes W164 ML, W166 ML and GLE models built from 2006-2019 are luxury SUVs with Mercedes' full time 4Matic four-wheel drive and optional AIRMATIC adjustable height air suspension. The Mercedes AIRMATIC suspension with ADS (adaptive damping system) utilizes four adjustable air springs with a central air compressor to adjust air spring pressure providing a smoother more comfortable ride than standard steel coil springs, and the ADS monitors road conditions to instantly adjust the air pressure in the springs to maintain stability and reduce body roll. When adding weight to the W164 ML, W166 ML, and Mercedes GLE like passengers or cargo, the AIRMATIC suspension will automatically level the vehicle, and at high speeds the AIRMATIC suspension will automatically lower the vehicle to provide more stability and improved fuel economy. The W164 ML models also have the ability for the driver to fine tune the ride to his or her desire with both comfort and sport modes for the suspension, and even allows for the driver to raise the vehicle with the touch of a button when driving in deep snow or on rough terrain. There are many components used by the AIRMATIC system that monitor the W164 ML, W166 ML, and GLE and are constantly reporting information such as ride height, axle level, vehicle acceleration, and brake switch function to the AIRMATIC computer to control the air springs, compressor, and air reservoir. If any one of the sensors or system components were to fail on your W164 ML, W166 ML, or GLE, portions of or the entire AIRMATIC system will not function, leaving your ride to feel bumpy and unstable, the ride height to be too low or not level, and an air suspension warning indicator will illuminate. When this happens, it is imperative to have your vehicle inspected by a certified Mercedes technician to find out what the problem is before the problem causes other parts of the suspension to fail. Using original equipment replacement parts when any of the AIRMATIC suspension components fail, will bring the smooth ride back to your W164 ML and W164 ML or GLE. Even when the larger more expensive components like the air springs or air compressor fail, original equipment manufacturers like Bilstein and AMK offer aftermarket versions of the genuine Mercedes parts that fit and function like the originals to get your W164 ML and W166 ML or GLE back on the road without breaking the bank. These are the common models plagued by these part failures:
