Prior to the 1970s success of the Porsche 914, the Porsche 912 was the air-cooled predecessor manufactured in the later part of the 60s. From 1965-1969 the Coupe and targa styles were outfitted with the outbound 1.6L engines originally designed for the Porsche 356. The high efficiency output of the only 102 HP Porsche afforded drivers a Genuine Porsche sports car that still achieved 30 miles per gallon. Upon the discontinuation of the 356, Porsche executives were faced with a grim future of only one product offering, the 911. The disparity in price between the 911 and the 356 caused the pivotal move to introduce the 912. The 912, of Zuffenhausen, a borough in Stuttgart, was custom fitted for the German police to nab overly aggressive drivers on the Autobahn. While the 914 enjoyed a pleasant production cycle, the 912E filled in the gap as it was phased out in 1976. Designated as the Porsche 923 ahead of the popular 924 release, the 2.0L VW engine had a longer crankshaft, and new pistons increasing the cylinder bore to an astounding 94mm.

The Porsche 912 came with Bosch's signature L-Jetronic fuel injection. This type of fuel injection was mirrored by Lucas, Hitachi and NipponDenso, on popular vehicles produced in Asia in the 1980s. Airflow into the engine was measured by a vane known as the volume air flow sensor. This is one of the key reasons for the superb fuel management of the 912.

AutohausAZ is the website for Porsche 912 parts enthusiasts. The extreme demands of Bosch fuel injection create the need to pay close attention to system units like the fuel pump relay, distributor cap and rotor, and the fuel tank sending unit for the nearly 20-gallon fuel tank. We offer the OEM Bosch cap and rotor or a more affordable offering from Bremi or Beru. Whether you have the limited release 912E or the original 912, JP Group offers replacement window motors to ensure you don't get caught with your glass down. You may also find some cosmetic improvements with new Porsche emblems or a replacement sun visor set for your Porsche 912. We also offer some of the lowest prices online for replacement OEM fuel injectors for your Porsche 912, PN 0437004003.
