The average cost of a VW Golf clutch master cylinder is between $7.49 and $214.99.

In a three-pedal car with a hydraulic clutch, the VW Golf clutch master cylinder connects your left foot pedal to the clutch. If the master cylinder is damaged, the clutch can be rendered useless. If the clutch and brake share the same reservoir, this is particularly risky because you can lose your clutch as well as your brakes. This fluid must pass through the clutch lines to the slave cylinder, which is coupled to the clutch fork, because it cannot be compressed. The engine and wheels can spin independently because the clutch is forced to separate from the pressure plate and flywheel by the clutch fork.

The side of the reservoir of a clutch master cylinder will contain low and high markers that designate the appropriate amount of clutch fluid. Don't forget to top off your clutch fluid if it drops below the low line. Your owner's handbook or reservoir cap should specify the kind of fluid to use.

After topping off your clutch fluid, monitor the level. Like brake fluid, the level of the clutch fluid shouldn't decrease over time. The brake caliper piston extends wider as your brake pads wear, causing a gradual reduction in brake fluid level over time. A clutch master or slave cylinder leak is indicated by a persistent loss of clutch fluid.

Despite most VW Golf clutch master cylinders lasting between 50,000 and 100,000 miles, it will eventually need to be replaced. AutohausAZ has the clutch parts you need at the prices you love.
