VW distributor rotor typically cost between $4.09 and $107.02.
Your VW distributor rotor is a moving link between an ignition coil and a group of spark plugs. The distributor shaft moves in sync with the camshaft while the engine is running normally. As the distributor shaft revolves, the rotor itself also does. The distributor rotor has a continuous connection to the ignition coil and a variable connection to each spark plug as it is housed inside a distributor cap.
When a distributor rotor malfunctions, the engine will usually run poorly or not at all. The majority of failures are brought on by accumulation or wear on the electrical contacts, both of which reduce spark plug performance. Although replacement is usually necessary, excessive accumulation can occasionally be removed to prolong the life of a distributor rotor. With that said, they do experience regular wear and tear and will require replacement from time to time.
Rotor replacement is a simple procedure, although in some situations, they can be challenging to reach. A rotor is replaced by taking out the distributor, unlocking the fastener, and taking out the rotor. Simply reverse this process for installation but ensure the rotor is installed in the same direction as it was removed, and that the fastener is tightened down completely.
