  • The engine accessories such as the power steering pump, A/C compressor pump of the climate control system, and alternator on your BMW are all run using drive belts turned by the engine crankshaft pulley. To ensure enough tension is on the belts to turn these pumps and the alternator mechanical and hydraulic tensioners with sealed bearing pulleys are used that allow the belt to glide effortlessly while holding tight.
  • This Ina belt tensioner pulley is the original pulley used by BMW on the M42, M44, M50, M52, M54, and S54 engines.
  • If you are hearing a grinding sound from your engine, make sure to check the accessory drive belt tensioner pulley. If it is the cause of the noise, replace it with the tensioner pulley trusted by BMW before it seizes and leaves your BMW stranded on the side of the road.
