The expansion tank on your BMW is a very important part of your vehicle’s cooling system. It holds excess coolant until needed by the engine and allows for expansion and contraction of the coolant as it heats and cools. It also regulates the overall pressure of your BMW’s cooling system by sealing and pressurizing the cooling system and raising the boiling point of the coolant inside.
