The front axle bearing and hub assembly or wheel hubs on your Volvo 850 are made up of a sealed wheel bearing bolted to the steering knuckle that is press-fitted with the wheel hub to mount your Volvo’s front brake and wheels. When dirt or other road grime finds it's way into the sealed bearing, it will absorb the grease causing the bearing to overheat and wear out. Symptoms of the front wheel bearing wearing is usually an audible growl from the rear wheel, letting you know the bearing is worn out and the hub assembly needs to be replaced. However, ignoring the growling noise can lead to the bearing seizing or separating forcing the front wheel to lock up. The FAG 574566BE front axle bearing and hub assembly is an original equipment direct replacement front axle bearing and hub assembly for the 274378 front axles bearing and hub assemblies used on the 1994-1997 Volvo 850 and 1998 Volvo C70, S70, and V70 models.
