    For the air coming out of the A/C vents in your Volvo to be cold, the compressor first pumps hot gas refrigerant into the A/C condenser. Air flowing through the condenser removes heat from the gas refrigerant while it is being condensed into a liquid. The compressed liquid refrigerant then flows to the evaporator on the inside of the passenger compartment where it absorbs heat from the air entering the passenger compartment both cooling and drying the air. Because of its location behind the grill and in front of the radiator, the A/C condenser is susceptible to damage from road debris. Clogged fins can cause insufficient air to flow through the condenser to completely cool and condense the refrigerant and punctured cooling coils will allow the refrigerant to leak, leaving the system inoperable. The 940103 A/C condenser from Nissens is a direct fit replacement condenser for your 2005-2009 Volvo S60, 1999-2006 Volvo S80, 2005-2007 Volvo V70, and 2005-2007 Volvo XC70.
