Your Mercedes 560SL receiver drier is very important for maintaining your A/C system’s viability and functionality. The receiver drier acts as a storage reservoir when you’re A/C system is not operating, holding refrigerant and oil until it is needed. The receive drier also is a desiccant filled filter, removing moisture and debris that finds its way into you’re A/C to prevent component corrosion and refrigerant and oil flowing freely. If at any time the A/C system must be opened for service, and left open for an extended period, the desiccant in A/C receiver drier may become saturated with moisture from the open air. Additionally, if the A/C compressor fails it can send too much debris for the received drier to filter, clogging it and making it not functionable. In either case the receiver drier needs to be replaced to ensure you’re A/C system will continue to keep you cool. The Hansa 07501007 received drier is the original equipment receiver drier used by Mercedes on the 1986-1989 560SL models and the recommended replacement receiver drier for your Mercedes.
