By using exhaust pressure, the turbocharger compresses the air entering the engine intake. This compressed air increases the amount of oxygen entering the engine and the air fuel mixture to burn more completely, creating more power and lower engine emissions while using less fuel. Heat from the exhaust and high pressure can cause the internal bearings to wear and your Volvo turbocharger to become inoperable. When this happens, only replacing the turbocharger will bring back the power and fuel economy you are accustomed to. The Mitsubishi 49377-06214 turbocharger is an original equipment replacement for your Volvo turbocharger and the same turbocharger used by Volvo when your Volvo rolled off the assembly line.
