Your Volvo XC90 starter and Volvo 850 starter provide the turning force needed to rotate while fuel and spark are introduced to the cylinder, allowing the engine to start up. Consisting of a solenoid-controlled drive gear to engage the engine and a high powered brushed direct current electric motor to turn the engine, the starter is a fairly simple part. However due to the power it creates and electricity it draws, the internal brushes and winding wear down over time and the starter eventually will need to be replaced. The Bosch SR0483X a remanufactured original equipment starter for your 2003-2006 Volvo XC90 and 1993-1997 Volvo 850.
