The engine torque damper on your Volvo is the front lower engine mount that dampens engine torque that rocks your Volvo's engine forward during acceleration and supports the weight of the engine at the front of the engine cradle. Rubber bushings in the engine torque damper can wear out and crack over time causing the engine torque to resonate through the vehicle and be felt by the driver. This puts additional strain on coolant hoses, electrical harnesses, and the engine mounts.
