Tips To Extend The Life of Your Rotors
To receive a full life out of the rotors and to avoid premature warpage, please make sure to check the following:
- Make sure that all lug bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications after dismounting and mounting wheels, especially on all factory alloy wheels. Seasonal temperature changes may also affect torque specs. Check it quarterly and/ or after the vehicle has been serviced, as a lot of shops use air tools to mount and dismount wheels.
- Insure that the wheels are well balanced at all times to avoid additional play, which may cause premature warpage. Road force balance is recommended if possible and is provided by a shop near you, otherwise normal spin balance is better than no balance.
- Make sure that the alignment is corrected if out of spec. If the alignment can not be performed due to loose suspension components, those must be replaced to avoid additional play in the wheels that may lead to premature warpage.
