Glyco Connecting Rod Bearing Set
The connecting rods in your engine take the rotation of the crankshaft and transmit it to your pistons causing them to move up and down within the cylinders. To make this motion possible you need a bearing surface where the connection rods “attach” to the crankshaft and those are the connecting rod bearings, most often sold in complete sets. The crankshaft is the driving force behind an engine driven by the pistons, it runs the belt drive system and the drivetrain transmission input. Where the connecting rod mounts the actual piston assembly there needs to be the ability to rotate as the piston reaches the top and bottom of its stroke. This rotation is accomplished with the use of wrist pins and wrist pin bushings. Whenever you are repairing pistons or the piston rings you may want to replace the wrist pin bushings while you have the combustion chambers open and have access to the connecting rods and pistons.
