The History of Sebro
Founded in 1974 Sebro’s vision was to manufacture high quality affordable replacement brake discs and drums for European sport cars. The quality of Sebro brake discs and drums did not go unnoticed and with nearly instant success Sebro grew exponentially, adding large scale production lines to keep up with the demand. Most notable of Sebro’s admirers was Porsche, naming Sebro an original equipment supplier of Porsche brake rotors. Today Sebro continues to manufacture all of its parts in Kirchardt, Germany. They’ve expanded their catalog to internal engine parts, transmission hard parts, and chassis parts such as spindles and bearing brackets. Sebro replicates out of production parts, making it possible to restore classic European cars. In addition to Sebro’s elite manufacturing abilities, Sebro is committed to sustainability and being green with a 5,000 m² solar power complex housing both manufacturing and administrative operations.
Sebro Auto Parts
Sebro’s quality begins with the material they use. Constructed mostly of high quality German heat treated steel, case hardened steel, and wrought aluminum alloy bars are fine cut to produce the semi-finished blank before turning and missing processes begin. Precision lathes are used to obtain optimal surface structure to mate with brake pads and shoe friction material for discs and drums. A wide range of CNC vertical and horizontal mills are used to wet or dry machine cast iron, steel, aluminum and plastic to internally produce all components of the parts produced by Sebro. Specialty drilling machines developed for Sebro perform accurate perforating and slotting for cross drilled and slotted rotors. Custom hobbing cutters are used to cut gear wheels, flywheels, and sprockets. Grinders are also used to cross grind performance rotors to grip pads harder than conventional rotor surfaces. Sebro’s complete machining process is all handled in-house from the cutting of raw materials, to balancing and stamping the finished product, to even packing and making sure Sebro can provide quality assurance through every step.
