The Volvo S60 and V70 all-wheel driver (AWD) models from 2004-2009 utilized the Aisin AW55-51SN transaxle and four axle shafts to equally distribute engine power to each wheel. The axle's shaft consists of (2) grease-filled constant velocity (CV) joints protected by rubber boots, one located at the wheel, and one located at the differential, connected to each other by a metal driver shaft. Over time the boots that cover the CV joints dry rot and crack allowing the grease to leave the joints. Without grease the CV joints begin to dry out and bind creating an audible clicking sound that can be heard when turning indicating the axles shaft assemblies needs to be replaced ASAP. The GKN Loebro 305566 is a rebuilt original equipment Volvo 8252047 right front axle shaft for the 2004-2009 Volvo S60 and S70 AWD models and the preferred replacement right front axle for your Volvo.
