The turbocharger boost sensor in your Volvo’s intercooler measures the boost pressure entering the intake manifold to calculate the air density and the amount of fuel that will be needed for optimal engine combustion. If the turbocharger boost sensor fails, your Volvo’s engine management computer will not get a boost pressure signal and disable the turbocharger by permanently opening the wastegate and preventing boost pressure to build. When this happens, as the driver you will experience a lack of power, poor acceleration, and increased fuel consumption, not to mention the check engine light will illuminate. The Bosch 0261230295 turbocharger boost sensor is the original equipment boost sensor for the 2006-2016 turbocharged Volvo models including the XC70, S80, and C70.
