Pierburg Secondary Air Injection Pump

Pierburg EGR Valve Solenoid
Although the emissions system on cars has gotten more technologically advanced, some form of an EGR has been on most since early on. The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system allows exhaust gases to be reintroduced into the intake for use in combustion and reburning those exhaust gases to reduce emissions. To control when that exhaust gas is ported to the intake many engines use an electrically operated EGR valve solenoid.
