Continental VDO Fuel Pump Module, Throttle Body, Ignition Knock Sensor and More
VDO is a division of Continental AG and has been around since 1929. The VDO name is known worldwide for their speedometers, tachometers and gauges but has also been in the automotive electronics industry for years. Designing and building electronic components for powertrain, engine management and fuel injection systems. Many of their components are factory equipment on European cars so when it needs replacement look for the VDO name.

Continental VDO Products for your European Car
The VDO name can be found on many parts throughout your car as so many parts are now electronic. From the in-tank fuel pump module to the injectors and throttle body, your fuel system may include a number of VDO products. Your climate control system may have a VDO blower motor, condenser fan or any number of sensors. Same for your engine management system, there are sensors throughout the engine compartment like temperature sensors, knock sensors, cam and crankshaft position sensors.
Continental VDO Throttle Body
The throttle body has been around for years as carburetors were replaced by fuel injection. Early throttle bodies may well have included an injector but the modern throttle body is now an electronic component in the fuel management system. As you press on the accelerator pedal it moves a cable attached to the throttle body which senses the amount and direction of movement. That sensor then tells the ECM to adjust the fuel, the timing, etc to control your engine. All VDO electronic throttle body assemblies are manufactured to the OEM specifications. Please note in some cases a reprogram or reflash of the ECM may be required after installation which may require professional assistance.
Continental VDO Fuel Pump Module
Modern cars now have the fuel pump installed in the fuel tank and these fuel pump modules will last quite a long time. But eventually that fuel pump will need replacing from either wearing out or from contamination in the tank fouling the pump. The replacement VDO fuel pump module is the same factory unit as installed on your car and may even include factory updated improvements. Many cars have access panels in the trunk to get at the fuel pump flange on top of the tank but if your car requires dropping the fuel tank please consult a trained mechanic. Check out the AutohausAZ catalog for the VDO replacement fuel pump module for your car.
Continental VDO Ignition Knock Sensor
Your engine control module has to maintain exact balances between the fuel system, the ignition, and the exhaust emissions for proper performance. One of the sensors it uses is an ignition knock sensor or detonation sensor. To keep emissions as low as possible the ECM will run the engine as lean as possible but if gets too lean the engine will knock and this sensor will tell it to enrich the settings. Over time these sensors wear out and a new VDO replacement ignition knock sensor will get you back up and running. You can be sure VDO manufactures these sensors to OEM spec and fitment so you can get years more driving enjoyment.
